Mark J. Schlafly

Mark Schlafly is an independent Trustee of the Vertical Capital Income Fund. Mark is currently working at Washington University and is a consultant that has been integral to transactions such as those involving Russell Investments’ sale and acting senior leadership roles for firms such as Waddell and Reed. Mark was formerly President and CEO of FSC Securities Corporation and Advantage Capital Corporation. He was responsible for overseeing the growth objectives and service expectations for the firms. Mark also managed AIG Advisor Group’s Product Partner Program, Product Sales & Marketing, Investment Research and Corporate Communications teams.

A 25-year veteran of the asset management industry, accumulating numerous industry and firm accolades throughout his tenure. He also served at LPL Financial as Senior Vice President of Brokerage Products and Services. Mark was responsible for business development, planning and coordination of sponsor relationships. Additionally, he was responsible for National Sales of Brokerage Products and managed LPL’s Financial Planning Group, which is focused on providing tailored planning capabilities to advisors. Prior to joining LPL, Mark served as Vice President and Manager of Managed Products at A.G. Edwards. He was responsible for overseeing the firm’s mutual fund sales and marketing functions, and was also involved in marketing and training programs designed to inform and educate clients and financial consultants about the managed product choices available through the firm.

Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. Louis University, MO, and is a graduate of the Securities Institute from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, PA. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 designations. Mark serves on the MMI Board of Governor’s Executive Committee and the Board of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay Executive Committee.
